The newest model of aircraft manufactured by Airbus is set to make its debut here in China. The European manufacturer's 'A350' arrived in Zhuhai City in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday.
The aircraft will participate in several events during the 11th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition. It will also visit the Chinese cities of Haikou, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. Airbus' launch of the new aircraft is seen as an effort to challenge U.S. rival Boeing and their respective long distance aircraft - the 787 Dreamliner.
The A350 is designed to fly faster with higher fuel efficiency. More than half of the aircraft uses lighter composite materials. And by using new engines, fuel consumption has been reduced by 25 percent.
