Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for increased international cooperation in cyberspace governance and the building of a cyberspace community of common destiny. [Special coverage]
Noting that Internet development has no boundaries, Xi said China is willing to work with the international community for the common welfare for all people, to uphold the concept of cyberspace sovereignty and to make the global cyberspace governance system fairer and more reasonable.
Xi made the remarks while giving a speech via video at the opening ceremony of the third World Internet Conference in the riverside town of Wuzhen, eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
