In the women's 50 meter backstroke final for the Asian Swimming Championships, Chinese player, Olympic medalist Fu Yuanhui in 27 seconds 86 won the championship.
China's Fu Yuanhui was competiting in the women's 50m backstroke. Fu, in the fourth lane, become a household name in this country, after saying on natioal TV that she utilized all her "prehistorical powers" after the 50m backstroke final in Rio.
The 20-year-old took some time off after the Olympics, and reportedly did not train as hard for this meet. Despite that, the Girl with Prehistoric powers would cruise to victory in 27.86 seconds. Teammate Wang Xue'er won silver in 28.01.
CHINA WIN WOMEN'S 4×200m FREESTYLE
In the women's 4×200m freestyle relay, China took the gold with 7:54.98. The girls broke the competition record in the process. Hosts Japan settle for a silver.
LI ZHUHAO GOLDEN IN MEN'S 100m BUTTERFLY
In the men's 100m butterfly, China's Li Zhuhao was in the fourth lane. He was one of the winners of the 4×100m butterfly at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. The 17-year-old was in second after 50 meters. Li would make a move in the final 25 meters, and win the contest in 52.00 seconds. The teenager breaking the competition record in the process.
PARK TAE-HWAN CROWNED IN MEN'S 200m FREESTYLE
In the men's 200m freesytle, China's Sun Yang did not compete. South Korean veteran Park Tae-hwan would cruise to gold in 1:45.16, also setting a new meet record. China's Wang Shun was almost 2 seconds behind to take the silver.
CHINA WIN MEN'S 4×100m MEDLEY RELAY
In the men's 4×100m medley relay, the Chinese squad of Li Zhuhao, Xu Jiayu, Li Xiang, and Yu Hexin would edge the hosts to pocket the gold. Their result of 3:33.43 is a new record for the competition.
