A tsunami caused by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, will not affect China's coastal areas, said the State Oceanic Administration Tuesday.
The tsunami warning center of the administration will continue to track and analyze data from the earthquake and tsunami.
The center said it will not issue follow-up information unless there are important changes in monitoring data and forecasts.
