China is moving closer to its goal of building an all-round moderately prosperous society by 2020, inspired by the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Tuesday marks the fourth anniversary of the Chinese dream concept, and remarkable progress has been made in state governance, reform and development, as well as domestic and foreign affairs, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.

NEW ECONOMIC MOMENTUM

The Chinese economy has demonstrated great stability and resilience, providing a solid foundation for the country's drive to complete the building of an all-round moderately prosperous society by 2020.

Figures speak for themselves. China's GDP grew 6.7 percent year on year in the first three quarters this year; China's producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, ended a 54-month straight decline in September; the country has also seen rising figures in investment, industrial output and corporate revenue.

Over the past years, the Chinese economy has gained new momentum, and growth in emerging and high-tech industries has accelerated. The country has seen nearly 15,000 new enterprises registered on average each day.

Quality economic growth has been boosted by China's economic restructuring. Statistics show that the added value of the tertiary sector accounted for 52.8 percent of the country's GDP in the first nine months of this year, up 1.6 percentage points year on year, while energy consumption per unit of GDP fell by 5.2 percent.

The Chinese dream goes hand in hand with the Chinese people leading happy and satisfying lives, and China has strived to enable more people to benefit from the country's development.

China has carried out various measures to improve people's livelihoods, such as household registration reform, investments in rural education and subsidies for the disabled.

This year the central and provincial governments earmarked a record high of over 100 billion yuan (around 14.5 billion U.S. dollars) for poverty relief.

At the same time China, amid stagnant global growth and a rise in trade protectionism, has embraced the world with more confidence and an open mind.

From the Belt and Road Initiative and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to the Hangzhou G20 summit and Lima APEC meeting, Chinese wisdom has pointed the direction for world development.
