China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Tuesday met with a visiting delegation from the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, called on them to carry on the tradition of loving the country and Hong Kong, and firm up their commitment and confidence in the "one country, two systems" policy.
"No one, no organization or political Party should be allowed to rip out any part of Chinese territory at any time or in any form," Yu said, adding that this is a unifying belief of all 1.3-billion Chinese including compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Acknowledging the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce's contributions in the past century, Yu said he hoped the chamber would continue to contribute to the development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).
The top political advisor encouraged the chamber of commerce to support the SAR government, boost the SAR's economic prosperity, and promote stability by developing the economy.
Yu called on its members to grasp the opportunity of the mainland's structural supply-side reform to promote development of both their own businesses and the mainland.
