Shanghai will carry out traffic control in congested areas historically attracting numerous people and crowds during the New Year holiday, the city security bureau announced.
Nanjing Road East Station on metro lines 2 and 10, and entrance 1 of Xintiandi Station on metro lines 10 and 13 will be closed from 8 pm Saturday to 1 am Sunday.
From 7 pm on Saturday through 1 am Sunday no vehicles are allowed to enter the Bund area circled by the Garden Bridge - Suzhou Road North - Xizang Road North - Beijing Road West - Fuxing Road East - Waima Road and Huangpu River.
The Dongjin Ferry Route and Shanghai Bund Sightseeing Tunnel will also stop operations at Saturday night.
