South Korea beat China 8-6 in the Winter Asiad women's curling on Monday.
Despite a flying start, China had a hard time in the first half, conceding two points respectively in the second and third sets.
The second half witnessed China gain three points in the ninth set but that was not enough to turn the table.
"South Korea settled down earlier than us in this match," said China coach Tan Weidong. "But we played tough in the second half and gave the opponents a huge pressure. We possibly could win or draw if they made mistakes."
China will face Qatar, which lost to Kazakhstan 14-2, later on Monday.
