The General Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has issued a guideline on strengthening and improving the democratic supervision work of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
It was the first special document issued by the CPC Central Committee on strengthening and improving the democratic supervision work of the CPPCC, according to an official from the General Office of CPPCC National Committee.
"The democratic supervision of the political advisory body is a unique and important political arrangement of China's socialist democratic politics, which plays an indispensable role in China's political establishment," the official said.
According to the official, the supervision covers the implementation of the Constitution, laws and regulations, major policies of the Party and state, and the economic and social development plan and budget.
It also covers the handling of practical issues of social concern and the integrity of state agencies and their staffers.
