Chinese Finance Minister Xiao Jie on Saturday met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. The two sides have called for enhancing the economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Germany's southwestern city of Baden-Baden.
Both sides emphasized the great significance of intensifying the Chinese-U.S. economic cooperation, not only to both countries but also to the world economic growth, saying that China and the United States should highly treasure the hard-won achievements of bilateral economic cooperation.
In addition, the two sides agreed to further strengthen communication, to stick to the connotation of bilateral economic cooperation and to make it more effective and pragmatic.
It is the first meeting between Xiao and Mnuchin.
