A man was arrested in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province after stealing 80 fossilized dinosaur eggs, according to local police.
The man, surnamed Wang, twice visited a dinosaur egg collector in eastern China's Zhejiang Province under the pretence of making a purchase.
With the help of three accomplices, he stole 80 eggs on the evening of January 9 before fleeing to Shanghai. The group divided the eggs, with Wang taking 27 of them.
Learning that Wang had returned to his hometown on March 4, Huanan county police in Heilongjiang asked Wang's relatives to persuade him to turn himself in. Wang later gave himself up to police, who soon caught the other three suspects.
The case is under investigation.
