The Tough Mudder 5K will land in China for the first time in October this year, according to the organizers here on Monday.
The Tough Mudder 5K's debut in China was canceled in 2016 due to Typhoon Haima which caused huge economic losses estimated at nearly 5 billion yuan in the country.
The 2017 edition will be held at Sunland Green in Pudong, Shanghai on October 14. The organizers opened official registration website to all over 16. The registration will end by the end of May.
Along the 5 kilometers route, 10 classic obstacle challenges will be set up, including the highly popular "Mt. Qomolangma 2.0", the "Pyramid" which tests both power and teamwork and the "Kiss of Mud 2.0" where people literally crawl through mud beneath wires.
Founded in 2010, the Tough Mudder event was originated from series of 10 to 12 miles military-style obstacle courses. The event focuses on promoting courage, personal accomplishment and teamwork through unconventional experiences.
