A three-month exhibition in Beijing is providing visitors with a glimpse into a glorious era for Afghanistan more than 2,000 years ago.
These precious historic relics survived the political chaos and war that have devastated the country for the past 40 years, and have been chosen to represent an era when China and Afghanistan were connected by the Silk Road.
Many of the pieces combine elements of both China and Afghanistan's ancient pasts.
