Police from east China's Zhejiang Province captured 102 telecom and Internet fraud suspects during a synchronized raid in 56 cities, the public security bureau in Wenzhou City said Monday.
According to the bureau, police in early February found a fraud ring run by four Taiwanese was recruiting in the Chinese mainland and the enlisted personnel would be sent to such countries as India, Cambodia and Indonesia.
They would conduct telecom and Internet fraud in the name of public security, procuratorial and judical organs, said the bureau.
Police then set up an investigation team and arrested the suspects on March 13, according to the bureau.
Further operations were underway, said the bureau.
