The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a meeting of its chairman and vice chairpersons Tuesday to discuss major proposals and how to oversee handling of them.
Attendees called for giving play to the role of proposals made by political advisors, under democratic supervision, and conducting supervision by offering comments, criticism and advice through proposals, according to a statement released after the meeting.
They stressed selecting and effectively handling key proposals to promote the implementation of major decisions and arrangements by the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The meeting also approved a decision to remove Kong Qingping from his post as a member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.
The meeting was presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
