Every cup of tea is steeped with thousands of years of history.
As legend has it, the ancient Chinese Father of Agriculture, Shen Nong, was sitting under a camellia tree drinking hot water when dried leaves fell from the tree into his drink—creating a tea infusion.
It was believed to be the first cup of tea on the planet.
Since then, tea has become a staple in many cultures and traditions globally.
Kenya is the world's largest exporter, followed by Sri Lanka and China.
Americans alone consumed over 80 billion servings of tea in 2015.
In 2015, China earned 1.38 billion US dollars from tea exports, and in the same year, the United States imported around 285 million pounds of tea—an estimated value of 11.5 billion US dollars.
About 85 percent of those servings were Black Tea, 14 percent, Green Tea. The remaining one percent—split between Oolong, White and Dark Tea.
