Chinese Ambassador to Spain Lyu Fan said on Monday that the prospects for China-Spain cooperation in all areas are wide.
He made the remarks at a diplomatic meeting organized by the Spanish newspaper La Razon, which was also attended by the Spanish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Ildefonso Castro.
Highlighting the increase of Chinese tourists in Spain, the ambassador said the tourists are "those who spend the most in comparison with other tourists."
He also talked about the existing train between the Chinese city of Yiwu and Madrid, "which has facilitated the transport of goods between the two countries."
"Both governmental and non-governmental exchanges have increased," he said, highlighting "Chinese New Year celebrations that attract tens of thousands locals."
According to Lyu Fan, in recent years the two countries have "had frequent exchanges and high-level visits and consolidated mutual political trust."
"Economic and trade confidence has overcome the problems of the European debt crisis," said the ambassador.
Meanwhile, Castro said that "the relationship with China has an important economic content" and believes "that there should be more progress" in this area.
