The Chinese authorities have cleared away the wreckage of a fishing boat that became stranded last year on Huangyan Island in the South China Sea, media reported on Monday.
The Nanhai Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, under the commission of the Maritime Safety Administration of Sansha, South China's Hainan Province finished clearing the wreckage of the boat on Sunday, zgjtb.com, a news portal under the Ministry of Transport, reported on Monday.
According to a previous report on the official website of Hainan Maritime Safety Administration, on November 27, 2016, the Hainan-registered fishing boat was reportedly stranded in Huangyan Island's lagoon while trying to avoid Severe Tropical Storm Tokage.
The 19 fishermen on boat sent out a distress signal and were then rescued by the Hainan Maritime Search and Rescue Center.
