China's top meteorological authority Tuesday warned high temperatures will scorch the country's northern region in the following days.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast that a heat wave will sweep across the cities of Beijing and Tianjin, and Hebei, Henan and Shandong provinces in the next three days.
These areas will see temperature rise up to 37 degrees Celsius, according to the authority.
The NMC advised people in the affected regions to take precautions against heat stroke and fire.
A cold front starting from Saturday is expected to disperse the heat wave and lower temperatures, said the NMC.
