Three people have been killed and another two are missing after an explosion ripped through a black dynamite manufacturing plant Tuesday in central China's Hunan Province, authorities said.

One person who was injured was rushed to the hospital following the explosion, which happened around 2 p.m. at the plant in Xiumei Township of Linli County, said a spokesman with the county's publicity department.

His injuries are not life-threatening, said the spokesman.

The plant is owned by Mintai Black Dynamite Limited Liability Company.

The cause of the incident is being investigated.
