About 300 colleges students, including those from Hong Kong who study in Beijing and their mainland counterparts, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland Sunday.
They also cheered for the anniversary of the Hong Kong Professionals (Beijing) Association Youth Committee, which was founded in 2015.
Through a video record, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying thanked the association for helping Hong Kong residents better adapt to the life in Beijing and promoting exchanges between the two regions.
Li Yingying, a Tsinghua University junior from Hong Kong, said she was glad to have chosen to study in Beijing as the experience has brought her not only friends but better knowledge of the nation.
