Chinese political advisors met on Tuesday to discuss how to build the country's cultural confidence and tell China stories well.
Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the top advisory body, chaired the meeting.
Members of the CPPCC National Committee said that stories about China are the best means to build the country's cultural confidence and tell of its traditions, ideas and values.
A good China story is a story about changes -- the changes in society, business and people, said some members. A good China story should be about the people and express the interests of the people.
Some members suggested only a true and sincere story could be called a "good China story."
Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China needs to improve and innovate ways of telling China stories well in order to build cultural confidence.
