An electric tower collapsed on Friday in Shimen District, northern Taiwan's New Taipei after torrential rain battered the island.
Local media said the second electric tower of a power plant belonging to Jinshan Nuclear Power Plant collapsed and stopped working immediately.
Taiwan has been recently pummeled with this year's strongest rainfall.
The region's weather bureau said a southwesterly airstream will leave the island on Sunday, but the weather front will persist.
The bad weather has caused delay in the departure and arrival of flights at Taoyuan International Airport.
