China, ASEAN and other South Asian nations should enhance legal cooperation to ensure regional peace and stability, Chief Justice Zhou Qiang said Thursday.
Zhou Qiang, president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), made the remarks at the second China-ASEAN Justice Forum.
Zhou said regional countries should strengthen judicial cooperation to fight crime more effectively, provide strong legal guarantees for the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to the peace and stability in the region.
Attendees reached consensus on improving cross-border legal framework, mechanism of solving trade disputes and promoting mutual recognition of civil and commercial judgements.
