Continuous torrential rain lashed 383 towns in central China's Hunan Province starting on Saturday, local authorities said Sunday.
The rainstorm caused village roads to be cut off and water logging in urban areas in some of the towns, said the Hunan provincial office of flood control and drought relief headquarters.
From Saturday, heavy rain and rainstorms hit central and northern Hunan, with average precipitation across the province reaching more than 21 millimeters in 24 hours.
The heavy rain will last until Friday, said the province's meteorological bureau.
Nationwide, at least six people died and three others remain unaccounted for after torrential rain hit southern China from Thursday to Saturday.
