The Communist parties of China and Cuba pledged to strengthen ties as senior officials met on Wednesday.
Liu Yunshan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Jose Ramon Balaguer, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee.
The CPC cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries and leaders of both sides have chartered the course for relations between the two parties and two countries, Liu said.
The party-to-party relationship is an important pillar for state-to-state relations, said Liu.
China firmly supports Cuba's pursuit of the socialist path and will deepen party-to-party exchanges and practical cooperation with Cuba to contribute to the party building and national development of the two countries, Liu said.
Applauding the two parties' exchanges in party building and state governance, Balaguer said Cuba admires the the CPC's ruling capacity and China's development and that Cuba will boost party exchanges and bilateral relations with China.
