Xiongan New Area, a new economic zone near Beijing, announced Tuesday that it will contain an archaeological park.
The three counties of Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin have a long history and are rich in cultural relics.
There are a total of 293 immovable antiquities in the area, according to China Academy of Urban Planning and Design.
Antiquities protection and archaeological work had seldom been seen in the area before Xiongan was made a new economic zone in April.
Currently, about eight archaeological teams are working there.
