Wang Hongjiang, former member of the Standing Committee of Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), has been demoted for serious disciplinary violations, the CPC discipline arm announced Monday.
Wang was also the former head of the United Front Work Department of the municipal CPC committee, according to a statement by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
He was found to be in serious violation of the Party's rules on clean governance and work, as well as organizational discipline by misusing financial funds and concealing his failings during inquiries, the CCDI said.
Based on CPC regulations on disciplinary penalties and relevant rules, Wang has been given penalties including being placed on probation within the Party for one year, removal from his administrative post, and being demoted to a non-leadership position at the departmental level.
