Wang has been in his position since April. Prior to that, he had served as the secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for over five years.
He also worked as the vice secretary of Anhui, Fujian, Sichuan, and Guizhou Provincial Committees of the CPC.
