Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Thursday met with former Austrian President Heinz Fischer in Beijing.
Li said China-Austria relations have developed soundly since the two nations forged diplomatic ties 46 year ago.
China appreciates Austria's support in Belt and Road construction and China-Europe cooperation, he said.
He said he hopes the two sides could expand practical cooperation and deepen friendship in the spirit of mutual respect, equality and win-win, so as to promote the development of bilateral ties.
Fischer said Austria attaches great importance to relations with China and is delighted to see a prosperous China.
He suggested the two nations beef up cooperation in politics, economics and trade, culture and winter sports.
