Guo Xin, one of China's most wanted fugitives, returned to China and turned herself in to the police, the anti-corruption authority said Sunday.
Guo, a former associate professor of Yunnan University in southwest China, was suspected of accepting bribes and fled to the United States in August 2010, according to a statement released by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.[Special coverage]
In April 2015, Interpol issued a "Red Notice" for 100 corruption fugitives wanted by China. Many of the fugitives were former government staff or employees of state-owned enterprises.
Guo was number 27 on the list and the 47th to return so far.
