Most parts of central and eastern China will see sharp temperature drops Sunday as strong cold air sweeps across the region, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
As of 5 a.m. Sunday, temperatures had fallen by 6 to 12 degrees Celsius in central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, most parts of north and northeastern China, central and northern areas of Shaanxi Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, according to the NMC.
Central regions of Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces in the country's northeast will see a 14 to 18 degree drop in temperatures. Southwestern areas of Qinghai Province are expected to receive 1 to 3 millimeters of snow.
From Sunday to Tuesday morning, there will be strong winds in parts of northeast, northwest, north and central China, as well as Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Temperatures will drop by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in these areas. Central parts of Jilin and Liaoning provinces will see temperatures plummet by more than 10 degrees Celsius.
