Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in Da Nang, Vietnam.[Special coverage]
In it, Xi emphasized the importance of following globalization, calling it an "irreversible trend" as the world economy has undergone profound changes in the last couple of years.
"Development is a journey with no end and we should follow the trend of the global economy," says Xi. "Economic globalization should be more open, balanced, and equitable."
Xi will also attend a dialogue with representatives of the APEC Business Advisory Council later Friday afternoon, as well as an informal dialogue with leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
U.S. President Donald Trump also spoke at the meeting.
Themed "Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future," the APEC 2017 meeting will end November 11.
