A 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Iraq at 2:18 a.m. Monday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 34.9 degrees north latitude and 45.75 degrees east longitude.
The quake struck at a depth of about 20 km.
