At least 141 people died and nearly 1,000 injured in the powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit the Iraq-Iran border area on Sunday, Iran's state IRIB TV reported on Monday.
The quake, which centered at 103 km southeast of the city of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, was felt in several Iranian provinces bordering Iraq.
Over 20 Iranian villages in Iran's Kermanshah Province have been damaged, with power and water flows disrupted.
More than 30 Iranian emergency teams have been dispatched to the quake-hit region and helicopters have delivered basic needs to those impacted by the equake.
Local media reports on the earthquake's magnitude vary from 4.5 to 7.3.
