China coach Marcello Lippi said on Monday that he would field a different formation in the soccer friendly against Columbia on Tuesday after his team lost to Serbia 2-0 last Friday.
"We will have 3 or 4 changes in the starters. We aim to evaluate the players in friendly games. In last game, we didn't play well in the first half but created some good chances after the break. I hope we can continue that performance," Lippi said.
"I will not care about the result when playing against such a strong team as Columbia. What I want is the progress we make," he added.
And Lippi also talked about the prospect of Italy in play-offs of World Cup. Azzurri are on the edge of elimination after a 1-0 defeat to Sweden in the first leg.
"It will be a tough game, and it is a test for the players. One goal is not enough, the team need to score more," said Lippi who had guided the Italian team to the top podium of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
