Chinese streaming platform iQiyi announced that it has entered into a five-year cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Public Security's Shield Entertainment Center, which mainly works on police-themed TV and movie productions, to produce new TV and film works.
In the release, Wang Xiaohui, iQiyi chief content officer, said that dramas and films telling good stories about Chinese police are sure to meet audiences' demand for great content.
He also noted that the police genre has been a rich source of content for realistic TV and film productions.
According to the release, the two are currently working on film Xiguan Mansion and TV drama King of Reasoning: Bad Boy, and are preparing to start working on a new film that will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China, which falls on October 1, 2019.
