Two children were treated for mild injures after a tiger escaped from a cage and charged into a crowd during a circus performance in Central China on Saturday.
The two suffered scratches from the big cat's claws while attending the small outdoor circus in Linfen, Shanxi Province.
Both have been released from No. 2 People's Hospital in the city's Hongdong county on Monday morning, media reported.
Shocking footage taken at the scene shows the crowd back up in fright as the tiger emerges from its small cage. Fortunately, the animal was quickly caught by handlers.
According to local authorities, the trainers had not properly aligned the small cage to a larger one where the performance was to take place.
The private circus had been invited to perform after a local temple fair, authorities said.
An official investigation is underway.
