Two popular books, "Red Poppies" and "Hollow Mountain", originally written by Chinese celebrated author Alai were released in Hindi on Wednesday.
The books, translated to Hindi language by an Indian journalist Anand Swaroop Verma, were released amidst a gathering of writers, academicians, scholars, and publishers from both India and China.
Speaking on the occasion, Zhou Hongbo, the editor-in-chief of Chinese publishing house Commercial Press, said, "Our publishing house wants close cooperation with Indian ones. It is good to see Indian publishers publishing Chinese literary works in Hindi language."
Indian speakers on the occasion too laid stress on translation and publishing of Chinese literary works in India so that Indians could get to know more about the Chinese and the people-to-people contact is increased.
