Public security organs in China have canceled 3.147 million duplicate household registration certificates, or "hukou," since 2014, according to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Wednesday.
Public security organs also have canceled 5.786 million hukous of people who are deceased or who have changed their nationalities, and corrected 17.671 million incorrect registration items.
Since 2015, more than 11.49 million ID cards have been issued to those who have applied for an ID card in places other than their household registration locations.
More than 13 million people who were not registered now have their hukous registered, said the MPS.
