At least eight people were killed after a road collapsed in Foshan city in south China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday night, Xinhua reported.
According to local media, it is an eight-lane bidirectional road. The collapsed area is about the size of two basketball courts and 6-7 meters deep.
The collapsed section is also the city's subway Line 2 construction site. Some local residents were skeptical whether the collapse is due to the construction.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
