U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign on Tuesday named Brad Parscale, a former Trump Organization employee and web developer, to lead the president's 2020 re-election effort.
Parscale, 42, is a long-time digital marketing strategist for Trump, first with the Trump Organization and then with the 2016 presidential campaign.
Eric Trump, one of the president's sons, said that Parscale was pivotal to the campaign's success. Trump's son-in-law and senior aide Jared Kushner also praised Parscale's leadership and expertise in building a campaign in 2016.
The Trump campaign also said in a statement that it will be engaged in the 2018 midterm elections, in addition to focusing on building its infrastructure the 2020 race.
The results of this year's midterm elections, slated to be held in November, would be very important. Not only would they affect Trump's presidency but also reshape the political landscape for the coming years.
Trump has made clear that he would seek a second term since taking office early 2017.
