Over 300 million Chinese suffer from a sleep disorder, and more than 60% of post-90s suffer from lack of sleep, Chinanews.com reported on Wednesday.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 27% of people worldwide are suffering from a sleep disorder. Results of a sleep investigation released by the Chinese Sleep Research Society in 2016 also demonstrates that 38.2% of Chinese adults suffered from insomnia and over 300 million Chinese suffer from a sleep disorder.

Sleep disorder situation in China
"There are 89 types of sleep disorders caused by both external and internal factors, according to international classification," said Guo Xiheng, head of the sleep disorder breathing department of Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital. "Not being able to sleep, not being able to wake up, and not being able to sleep well all are sleep disorders."
Guo stressed that the sleep issue is getting more serious in China now, since the occurrence rate of sleep disorders in China is more than 10 percentage points higher than the rate globally.
