Wild giant pandas have been spotted in a nature reserve in southwest China's Sichuan Province, reserve authorities said Thursday.
Since December 2017, staff of the Longxi-Hongkou National Nature Reserve have collected more than 150 photos and some video footage recording wild pandas eating, drinking and roaming.
The staff also collected over 100 photos as well as video footage of other rare animals under the country's top protection, such as golden monkeys and takin, from infrared cameras.
Wild animals made frequent use of water supply facilities according to the photos and video footage, which proved the success of the construction of the water supply and provided a scientific basis for the management and protection in the future, said an employee at the reserve.
The nature reserve is in the core habitat for wild giant pandas, which is home to 10 pandas and 50 species of animals under the state top protection.
