The China Manzhouli Cross-Border E-Commerce Summit Forum opened in Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on June 17, to discuss the future of cross-border e-commerce.

Manzhouli is striving to upgrade its cross-border e-business system through the construction of cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, information platforms and comprehensive bonded zones. It was named a key city in cross-border e-commerce by Inner Mongolia's Department of Commerce.

Meanwhile, the municipal government has put forward measures to promote cross-border e-commerce including preferential policies in industrial parks construction, support for leading enterprises and professionals introduction.

It has also listed an industrial park and four companies as cross-border e-commerce pilots that will receive government support.

"We hope more e-commerce enterprises will take part in the cross-border e-business, through the leadership of these pilots," said Guo Xiaofeng, vice-mayor of Manzhouli.

Manzhouli is optimizing its cross-border e-commerce system and aims to be a leading city in the area, according to Han Xianjun, secretary of Manzhouli municipal Party committee.

The online population of Inner Mongolia was 11 million and the e-commerce trading volume hit 71 billion yuan ($11.44 billion) in 2013, increasing 250 percent comparing last year, said Guo Gang, deputy head of the region's department of commerce. The region has enormous potential in e-commerce, he added.

The governments of Manzhouli and Russian Chita organized this forum jointly. The forum's attendees included officials from the two governments, representatives of Russian e-commerce enterprises and domestic enterprises.
