Chinese shares closed sharply lower on Thursday after two days' rally, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 3.46 percent to finish at 4527.78 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 3.8 percent to close at 15692.44 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 5.23 percent to end at 3206.38 points.
