China Eastern
China Eastern has applied to start a route from Shanghai to Chicago in October.
According to the plan posted on the website of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the airline will fly seven flights per week on the route with a Boeing 777.
Air China
Air China has applied to start a route from Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, to Paris in October.
According to the announcement posted on the CAAC's website, the airline will fly four flights per week on the route with an Airbus A330.
Juneyao Airlines
Juneyao Airlines announced Tuesday that it plans to issue 3.6 billion yuan ($579.62 million) worth of new shares to raise money to expand its fleet and repay bank loans. The Shanghai-based private carrier plans to issue 58 million new shares at a price of at least 61.58 yuan, according to the announcement. It plans to buy four Airbus A320s, three auxiliary engines, two flight -simulators and a tourism platform.
The company also said its net profit attributable to shareholders would climb to 170 percent in the first half of this year, up from 191 million yuan a year earlier, due to low jet fuel prices, a robust market and its own operating efficiency.
Korean Air
Korean Air said Wednesday that it has teamed up with -Shilla Seoul to fly more than 300 visitors from China to South Korea to bolster confidence in traveling to the country.
According to the airline, the visit will last until the latter part of this month. Korea Air has provided the air tickets and also covered some of the group's traveling expenses.
The airline said it has sold the tickets at a large discount to promote the market during the peak summer tourism season.
