The Coca-Cola Co began construction of its second plant in Changsha, Central China's Hunan Province on Thursday. With an investment of $50 million, the plant will have nine production lines.
The first phase will open in September 2016 and is expected to provide an annual production capacity of 160 million cases of beverages.
In the second quarter, the company achieved 7 percent growth in the carbonated-beverage business in China, with strong double-digit growth for its flagship brand Coca-Cola.
