Over 900 suppliers have registered to participate in the nuclear power complex that Argentina is building in cooperation with China, the Ministry of Federal Planning announced on Thursday.

"This indicates a strong interest that our national industry has shown in being part of our country's nuclear development," said the ministry in a press release.

In total, 908 companies have signed up as part of a bid for potential suppliers that began on July 13.

The ministry said that "national industrial companies, manufacturers of various components, services providers, and engineering and civil construction firms were called to register for being potential suppliers for these projects."

The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) will supply equipment, goods and services, as well as materials needed to help the construction of the power plant.

Furthermore, China will provide up to 85 percent of the financing for the project, according to the financial accords.

The project will need 2 billion U.S. dollars worth of supplies from foreign companies, and 3.47 billion dollars from domestic suppliers

The construction plan is set to last eight years.
