China's Ministry of Commerce on Monday announced it would review anti-dumping duties on imported purified terephthalic acid (PTA) from the Republic of Korea and Thailand.
The review follows an application submitted on June 10 by domestic producers' application that requested that the ministry reinvestigate the case and extend anti-dumping duties due to expire.
China imposed five-year anti-dumping tariffs ranging from 2 percent to 20.1 percent on PTA imports from the two countries on Aug. 12, 2010, after dumping had caused substantial damage to the domestic industry.
Terephthalic acid is an organic compound used in polyester coatings and resins.
